Active compounds found within the cannabis plant are collectively referred to as cannabinoids. In recent years, the discovery of cannabinoid receptors CB1, most predominantly found in the brain, and CB2, most predominantly found within the immune system cells, have provided a catalyst to investigate therapeutic effects that have long been believed to reside within the cannabis plant.

Currently there are sixty-six known cannabinoids, the most common being Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), which is responsible for the psychoactive effects of cannabis. For years, strengthening THC in cannabis has been the primary focus of breeders, which alongside commercial and technological advancement like these pre-filled cbd vape pens has one conclusion. The result: much more potent strains today than ever before.

Cannabidiol (CBD), a lesser known cannabinoid has made waves recently as a non-psychoactive cannabinoid that carries a wide array of pharmacological benefits. Many CBD products such as cbd gummies are being sold for their potential health benefits, and the CBD market only seems to be growing. With the growing CBD marketing businesses that are similar to Zach Attack Supplements have appeared to help with the growing demand. This new influx of interest in CBD has sparked the attention of those who use or want to use CBD products. They are often looking for alternative forms of medication to help their different ailments. An example of this is many within the Cannabis and CBD community seeking how to make cbd oil at home for their personal and commercial use thus contributing to the booming CBD industry. The supposed benefits include:

Reducing alcohol-induced brain damage

Providing a effective treatment for severe social anxiety

Ability to “turn off” cancer gene involved in metastasis

Potential antipsychotic effects

Treatment of epilepsy

At Solstice, we are extremely inspired by these positive applications. Over the past several years we have done our own research on CBD rich cannabis strains and have searched far and wide for different varieties. We currently offer two different strains that we consider “pure CBD” (a ratio of 20 to 1 or greater of CBD to any other cannabinoid). Sour Tsunami #3, a sativa based variety that averages 12.53% CBD and less than 0.09% THC. The Remedy is an indica based variety that averages around 12.09% CBD and 0.66% THC.

Continuing research on the effects of CBD is the main goal Project CBD, a not for profit organization started in 2010. Solstice is a proud supporter of their efforts and the continued pursuit of understanding the positive applications of CBD.
